On this 4-day bike & barge holiday you will experience the highlights of Holland during springtime. On bike you arrive in the historical city of Haarlem, the next day the cycle tour crosses the blossoming flower fields and ends in Leiden. You will visit the Flower Park Keukenhof, flower auction FloraHolland in Aalsmeer, a traditional windmill and a cheese farm.
Day 1. Amsterdam – Spaarndam – Haarlem (cycle trip ± 10 km)
After the embarkation in Amsterdam, you’ll be sailing to Spaarndam, the picturesque village of Hans Brinker. From here there is a short cycling trip to Haarlem. In the evening your tour leader takes you for a nice city walk through the old town centre.
Day 2. Haarlem – Leiden (cycle trip ± 20 km)
Today you sail to Lisse where you disembark and cycle to the famous flower garden ‘Keukenhof’ for a visit. Here you see about 6 million tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and other flowers. After your visit, the cycle trip crosses the blossoming flower fields and ends in Leiden.
Day 3. Leiden – Kudelstaart (cycle trip ± 35 km)
In the morning you will make a short walking tour through Leiden, the birthplace of Rembrandt. Through the fine Dutch landscapes in the so-called Green Heart of Holland you pedal to Kudelstaart. On the way you will visit a traditional cheese farm.
Day 4. Kudelstaart – Amsterdam (cycle trip ± 20 km)
You rise early, because you’ll visit the world’s biggest flower auction Flora Holland in Aalsmeer. After the visit you embark the boat and sail back to Amsterdam.
For a wonderful sailing trip you can try the ship WATERLAND. This cosy passenger ship is ideal for group bookings, but the crew also welcomes the individual traveller. The informal atmosphere aboard makes everybody feels at home quickly. The living has a small bar, at the sun deck all passengers can be seated.
