This unique Bike & Hotel Holiday in Southwest Turkeye shows the unspoilt hinterland between seaside resort Fethiye and farming village Dalyan.
After arriving at your first hotel, cycle around the old harbor town of Fethiye along the coast to the nearby peninsula. There is also a route through the green valley, where you can taste the most delicious products from their own garden in a typical Turkish family restaurant. In this rural area, the word ‘stress’ has yet to be invented!
After 3 nights hotel stay in Fethiye you will be transferred to your second accommodation in Dalyan, a holiday complex with 12 small holiday homes on the water! The beautiful town of Dalyan is located halfway between the Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful Koyegiz Lake. You will make fun and interesting bike rides along the many fruit plantations, authentic villages with beautiful mosques and the famous royal tombs of the Lycian monarchs carved into the rock.
The marked routes are usually on low-traffic asphalt roads. Sometimes, however, the road is unpaved, and now and then you have to climb a bit.
As a rest day, it is a good idea to take the optional 12 island boat trip, where you can snorkel or relax on deck along the way.
Saturday: arrival at Dalaman airport and transfer to Fethiye
Upon arrival at Dalaman airport, our driver will be waiting for you with a chilled bottle of water and will take you to the overnight location in approximately 45 minutes for the first 3 days in Fethiye. You will stay in a small-scale, typical Turkish hotel owned by a hospitable Turkish family who also speak Dutch. Fethiye is located on a beautiful bay and enclosed by the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Fethiye has an authentic center, called Paspatur, where you will find all kinds of shops and a fish market surrounded by restaurants where you buy fish which will be prepared for a delicious meal .. The antique amphitheater is located at the end of the boulevard, near the harbor. The amphitheater at the harbor and the Lycian rock tombs are reminders of the rich history of this area.

Today you can choose from 2 different cycling routes. The bike ride around the peninsula is really beautiful with many azure blue bays and beach bars where you can enjoy a chilled drink. The beautiful coastal road winds through the landscape and goes up and down. During the farmland route you take a nice bike ride through the farmland of Fethiye and cycle through the valley on narrow roads. The route is also characterized by the many authentic villages where it seems as if time has stood still.

The first part of today’s cycle route you cycle on a cycle path along the coast to the beach part of Fethiye. You can enjoy a cup of coffee on the boulevard. Everything here comes from our own garden and the homemade bread and olives taste delicious. This is truly Turkey at its best!

Thursday: Dalyan-Köycegiz, 40 km (200 altitude meters)
Today you will leave Dalyan in a northerly direction and cycle through the agricultural hinterland of Dalyan through ancient villages. The soil here is very fertile and in this area you will find many types of fruit. Köycegiz is a wonderful place to stay and is located right on the lake of the same name. It is hard to imagine that this place has lost its popularity to Dalyan over the years.

Friday: Köycegiz-Dalyan, 35 km (400 hm)
The last day of cycling goes entirely along the shores of the lake, back to Dalyan. On the way you will pass villages such as Hamitköy. These villages were inhabited at the beginning of the last century by Indians who worked here in the fruit cultivation. A number of houses still have a woven structure and were made by the Indian workers. The course is hilly on quiet roads. The ferry takes you back to the other side of the river, so you cycle the last bit back to the hotel in Dalyan.
